Translations for an IRS Audit
Are you being audited by the IRS? Have you been asked to translate some of your documents into English.
If you are a U.S. citizen or own a U.S. company and are not currently a U.S. resident, you may have documents in other languages that the IRS will ask to see.
They will also require that you send in an official translation of these documents.
You will receive the following requirements from the IRS:
"The translation must be that of a qualified translator, and such translation must be accompanied by that translator's attestation, containing a statement of her/his qualifications, including an English-language website showing professional affiliations, if possible. The translator should work at translating as a profession, must be business literate in both languages, and her/his credentials should be independently verifiable through an English language web search, professional affiliations, or other means."
You may need to translate documents from French to English, German to English, Spanish to English, Italian to English, Hebrew to English, and so on.
